Skittle

Skittles are a type of fruit-flavored candy. The original Skittles were red, orange, yellow, green, and purple. The candy consists of a hard sugar shell with a chewy inside. The outside of the Skittle is covered with a colored coating.

History

Skittles were first created in 1974 by a British company. The original flavors were lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit, and strawberry. In 1976, Skittles were introduced to the United States. The first flavor available in the US was orange. The other flavors followed shortly after. The original Skittles were much larger than the Skittles we know today. In the early 1990s, the size was reduced and the flavors were changed to include lemon, lime, grape, orange, and strawberry.

Production

Skittles are produced by Mars Wrigley in a variety of locations. The main ingredients in Skittles are sugar, corn syrup, and hydrogenated palm kernel oil. Skittles also contain natural and artificial flavors, citric acid, and calcium stearate.

Flavors

Skittles come in a variety of flavors, which are determined by the color of the candy. The most common flavors are strawberry, orange, lemon, grape, and green apple. However, there are many other flavors that have been released over the years, such as watermelon, blue raspberry, and mango. The flavor of the Skittle is determined by the color of the candy, with each color representing a different flavor.
