Gorilla

Gorillas are one of the many different types of primates that exist in the world. They are large apes that are native to the forests of central Africa. Gorillas are herbivores, which means that they primarily eat plants. Gorillas live in groups called troops. A typical troop consists of about 10-20 gorillas. The leader of the troop is called the silverback.

Habitat

Gorillas are ground-dwelling, predominantly herbivorous apes that inhabit the forests of central Sub-Saharan Africa. The eponymous genus Gorilla is divided into two species: the eastern gorillas and the western gorillas, and either four or five subspecies. They are the largest living primates. Gorillas' natural habitats cover tropical or subtropical forests in Africa. Although their range covers a small percentage of Africa, gorillas live in a variety of habitats, including montane, swamp and bamboo forests.

Diet

Gorillas are herbivores that primarily eat plants. The bulk of their diet consists of leaves, stems, and pith from trees and shrubs, with a little fruit, flowers, and bark. They also eat ants, termites, and grubs. Gorillas spend most of their time eating and foraging for food. They eat about 50 pounds of vegetation each day.

Behaviour

Gorillas are gentle giants. They are the largest of the primates. A male gorilla can weigh up to 400 pounds. Gorillas live in Africa. They live in the mountains and in the forests. Gorillas are vegetarians. They eat leaves, stems, and fruits. Gorillas are very social animals. They live in groups called troops. A troop can have up to 30 gorillas. The gorillas in a troop stay together for their whole lives.

Conservation

Gorillas are an endangered species. They are found in the wild in Africa. There are two species of gorillas, the eastern gorilla and the western gorilla. The eastern gorilla is more endangered than the western gorilla. There are only about 700 eastern gorillas left in the wild. The western gorilla is not as endangered, with about 10,000 left in the wild. Gorillas are endangered because of habitat loss, poaching, and disease.
